Google Summer of Code (remote open-source contributor programme)
A paid, remote programme where students and beginners to open source work on a project with a mentoring organization over the summer.
Contributors write a proposal for a project with one of the participating open-source organizations and, if selected, work with a mentor for about 12 weeks with a stipend.
How to stand out
- Pick an organization early and make small contributions before the application window.
- Discuss your proposal with the mentors on their public channels.
This is a recurring programme. Dates and eligibility change every cycle, so always read the current call on the official site before applying.
