How to find and land an internship in Pakistan

2 min read · Updated 11 Oct 2026

Most good internships are filled before they are widely advertised. Start early and apply consistently.

When to start

Large employers, from fertilizer, energy and manufacturing companies to banks, telecoms, NGOs and design studios, often open summer internship applications two to four months before the summer. Start looking at the beginning of the spring semester.

Where internships are announced

  • Company career pages and LinkedIn: follow the companies you want to work for.
  • Your department and alumni: seniors who interned last year know who to contact.
  • Industrial visits and job fairs: collect names and emails, then follow up within a week.
  • This hub: check New this week and subscribe to the newsletter.

A weekly routine

  1. Shortlist five organizations that match your programme.
  2. Tailor your CV to each one (see our CV guide).
  3. Send a short, specific email or application.
  4. Follow up politely after a week if you have not heard back.

During the internship

Keep a daily log of what you did and learned; you will need it for your internship report and for your CV. Ask for a short reference or a LinkedIn recommendation before you leave.
